Power Snooker 2011

Power Snooker gets under way in Manchester tomorrow and there is some surprising value on offer.

In last year's inaugural event Ronnie O'Sullivan again illustrated under time pressure that if you're in form and have great table management then you're a candidate for the title. The Rocket won the event from a strong field in a canter despite having some bad run.

O'Sullivan - With the Power Snooker Trophy in  2010

The 4/1 about him (general) to win the event is a ridiculous price and should be piled into. Last weekend in PTC10 and this week in Premier League Snooker he confirmed his current form and attitude are where they need to be for him to be the main threat.

For a saver we need to look in the opposite half of the draw and the only other player which it makes sense to back is Mark Selby. Currently world number one and like O'Sullivan he has a scientific understanding of the game and is in great nick.

I tipped him last year to do well but he only flew in the morning of the event and looked absoutely shattered and couldn't quite think clearly enough to compete. The 8/1 about him is advised as a saver.

Live on ITV4 from 1pm tomorrow.

Good luck but if you follow the tips you shouldn't need it.

Jeff
